Augmentative and Alternative Communication Assistive Technology Paraeducator Bootcamp. (90 Minute Session)

LOGIN

The role of the paraeducator in supporting students who use communication devices is important. This half-day Bootcamp workshop is designed to help paraeducators learn more about communication devices and how to support students who use communication devices. Participants will explore different low to high-tech communication devices, including app-based communication systems.

Participants will also learn techniques and strategies for helping students become more proficient communicators. Come join us to do a deep dive into AAC and strategies to support students in their communication!

    Takeaways from the Augmentative and Alternative Communication session:
    *EVERYONE has something to say
    *EVERYONE can learn
    *Model language using the communication device to help the student learn to use language to communicate
    *Be patient-allow wait time for students to respond
